NEWS LETTER: MARCH 2012

Developments:

Last month our pledged monthly financial support remained at 57.9% of our budget; after adding one-time donations the Lord provided 85.1% of our budget—our Lord will be proven faithful..!

* On February 22nd we were blessed with the visit of Elaine Bronstein, one of the Thursday Night "Chicas" Bible Study from CC Plantation. She bore a very nice "Care Package" with all kinds of goodies for our children and for us--curtesy of all the "Chicas" in the Bible Study--thank you Chicas!

* On February 27th I met with several Calvary Chapel Pastors for breakfast, fellowship and prayer. We had an blessed time exchanging ministry tips and ideas--all biblical and Spirit led. The next day Karla had the opportunity to do the same with other Pastor's Wives.

* On March 1st the church met to watch the movie Courageous. This movie night had record attendance and everybody was moved and challenged by the Spirit of God.

* On March 3rd we celebrated the two-year mark in the mission field while our kids participated in a swimming competition representing the Club Terrazas Swimming Team. That same day our evangelism group went out into the streets of Miraflores to share the good news of Jesus Christ. I'm blessed to see the growth this ministry is having in our church.

* On March 3rd we received notice that the owner of our apartment is going to need her property by the end of July, so we'll have to move out… This are bitter-sweet news since we have come to love our place and grinch at the thought of another move, but we also could use a little more space to accommodate our kids' homeschooling needs and have been praying for it. Surely our God has something better for us out there.

* On March 6 we had our first Volunteer's Meeting in the church. We had an opportunity to develop a sense of involvement and participation by the church as a whole in the work that God is doing in and through CC Miraflores. We also talked about the different ministries and our need to find a bigger place for our Sunday services--we are growing!

* On March 6 Karla and I went to pick up the Alegre's at the airport. The next day we met with them for lunch and grew in excitement and anticipation as we further discovered the hand of God all around us. Thank You, Lord!

We are blessed to announce that the Lord has provided ALL the necessary items for Karla and I to join this year's Calvary Chapel Bible College Peru's Holy Land Study Tour… Yes, we are going to Israel with Pastor John Bonner's group from March 12th to March 22nd. This is truly an intricate work of God, and all the glory goes to Him, considering He not only provided discounted prices and the funds to cover them, but also all the necessary arrangements to take care of our kids at home and the church. Truly our Lord is GOOD..!

Prayer Needs:

* For a fresh and empowering view of God, that we may learn to see His goodness in all places and in all things, and that His will be done in our lives.

* For our marriage, our devotional lives, and for our kids to continue to grow in their desire to know the Lord.

* For God's leading and provision in order to find a new place to live and funds for the move by the end of July.

* For protection and direction during our trip to Israel.

* For a downpour of spiritual realities and an intense hunger for God in the hearts of everyone in the church, including our children and our youth.

* For the healing hand of God on the marriages of our church.

* For the development of male leadership in our church.

* For the Lord to make the ministry of the Alegre's here in Miraflores an extremely fruitful one to the glory of God.

* For the development of healthy home groups within our congregation where people come to know and grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

* For the Lord to strengthen and develop godly homeschooling here in Peru.

* For the salvation of the people of the Club Terrazas Swimming Team and beyond.

* For ministry opportunities with the orphanage El Amparo, the shelter for girls The House of Glory, and our local brothers from HeartCry Missionary Society.

* For the hungry kids of Lurin and Rimac and for the men in the rehab centers in Rimac and Victory Fellowship.

* For our monthly financial support to go back to 100% of our budget.

NEWS LETTER: FEBRUARY 2012

Developments:

Last month our pledged monthly financial support remained at 57.9% of our budget; after adding one-time donations the Lord provided 77.4% of our budget—our Lord will be proven faithful..!

* On January 14^th we started our Street Evangelism ministry led by Esteban Luna from Calvary Chapel Melbourne. The saints meet at the church every Saturday afternoon, where Esteban does the theoretical training, and then head out to a local outdoors mall to evangelize.

* On January 26^th Karla had breakfast with a couple of Pastor’s Wives for prayer, accountability and encouragement.

* On January 30^th we had a ministry meeting with the Monzon’s where we started planning our first church missionary outreach to the people in the hills of Cajabamba, Cajamarca on August 2012.

* On February 3^rd and 4^th Karla and I with 10 more from our congregation had the pleasure to assist the yearly Calvary Chapel’s Pastors and Leaders Conference in Peru. This year we enjoyed the teachings of Gail Erwin.

* On February 4^th we said goodbye to Abuelita Mayo, Karla’s mom, as she headed back to Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA for her graduating year.

* On February 5^th we celebrated, my youngest son, Samuel’s 4^th birthday—Father, thank You for giving us little Samuel to be our baby-boy. Grant us the necessary grace to bring him up in the nurturing and admonition of the Lord.

* On February 7^th we met with Sue Liljenberg from Healing Hearts at Pastor Lucho and Nori Garcia’s home. We are looking forward to ministering with her to the post abortive women of Lima and beyond.

* On February 14^th we started our first Women's Bible Study with Violeta Luna from Calvary Chapel Melbourne. Violeta is leading a study in the book of Philipians by Kay Smith.

We are waiting with enthusiasm and excitement the arrival of Juan and Sandra Alegre on March 6^th. They are coming as missionaries from Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale to help us for a year with the ministry here in Miraflores-Lima, Peru. We thank and praise the Lord as we are blessed with the help He’s sending our way as an answer to your prayers. Thank you, prayer warriors. Truly the Lord is GOOD..!

NEWS LETTER: JANUARY 2012

Developments:

Last month our pledged monthly financial support went up to 57.9% of our budget; after adding one-time donations the Lord provided 100% of our budget—our Lord IS faithful..!

* On December 8^th we got together at our house with our friends from the disbanded Calvary Chapel Surco. I taught their Sunday services for almost two months before they disbanded back on February 2011. They are now congregating at their nearby Calvary Chapel Koinonia.

* On December 13^th we got notification that CC Ft. Lauderdale, our home church, will be sending us Juan and Sandra Alegre as missionaries for a period of one year as their initial commitment. We are good friends with the Alegre’s and are blessed to have them come help us with the pastoral care and outreach areas of ministry here in CC Miraflores—thank You, Lord!

* On December 16^th we held our church wide Christmas dinner in a local Chinese restaurant. We had an opportunity enjoy each other and to exchange presents with one another.

* On December 17^th we had a swimming competition on a local club with the Terrazas' swimming team. We continued being a witness of Jesus Christ to those in this group and using every open door to share with them.

* On December 18^th we had the pleasure to watch the children of our congregation perform a Christmas play after the service at the church. It was truly an event that brought us together, as well as, served as an evangelistic platform to reach friends and family.

* On December 22^nd we had a gift exchange in our English speaking home group.

* On December 23^rd we had a movie night at the church where we watched a Christmas movie.

* On December 24^th we celebrated Christmas Eve at the Calmet’s.

* On December 26^th a large group of the church showed up at my house to celebrate my 44^th birthday. Since Arturo Calmet’s birthday was on the 29^th we also blew his candles.

* On January 4^th the Lord sent us Esteban Luna and his family from Calvary Chapel Melbourne. Esteban has a heart for street evangelism and has a couple of years of experience teaching and leading evangelistic groups in the streets of Melbourne, FL. They will be staying in Peru for about six months and agreed to help us develop this area of ministry in CC Miraflores while they’re here—praise You, Lord!

We thank and praise the Lord for being an intimate God who answers prayers. His love and care for His people are undeniable and nothing is too hard for Him. We are blessed with the help He’s sending our way as an answer to your prayers. Thank you, prayer warriors. Truly the Lord is GOOD..!

NEWS LETTER: DECEMBER 2011

Developments:

Last month our pledged monthly financial support remained at 56.8% of our budget; after adding one-time donations the Lord provided 100% of our budget. He also glorified Himself by providing for our furlough expenses and homeschool materials through a God-given opportunity to work in engineering for five weeks in the US—our Lord IS faithful..!

* On November 13th I was invited to give an update about our ministry at Calvary Chapel Inverness. They have been our supporters from day one and continue to be a main source of encouragement for us. Thank you Pastor Kevin and the rest at CC Inverness..!

* On November 18th our family joined our friends, the Sloop’s and the Thornsberry’s, on a Thanksgiving outreach to the inner-city of Nashville, TN. We handed turkeys and goody bags in Jesus’ name to “the least of these…”

* On November 20th I was invited to share about our ministry and to teach the Sunday service at Calvary Chapel Savannah. You can view the service here. Thank you Pastor Dan for relinquishing the pulpit to me and to all that gave me their attention and love..!

* On November 26th and 27th we visited the main campus of our home church, Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale. There we had an opportunity to connect with our supporters and to raise new prayer warriors.

* On November 27th Karla and I renewed our wedding vows at Calvary Chapel Plantation. There, before the Lord, Pastor Steve and a handful of our best friends, we recommitted ourselves to each other to strengthen our marriage for the glory of God.

* On December 2nd we said goodbye to North American soil and to our friends until next furlough... We were blessed with the company of our best friends right up to the security checkpoint at the airport. We thank God for the love He channels our way through the good friends He’s given us back home—bless them, Lord..!

* On December 3rd we arrived in Lima to be welcomed by our friends from church, the Calmet and the Monzon, and with it we knew in our hearts that Chapter II of our missionary adventure had started...

We are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him in the mission field here in Peru. That He would use us for the advancement of his kingdom here in Lima is mindboggling, considering our insufficiencies. We thank Him for the friends He has given us back home and for the new friends He’s giving us here in the mission field. Truly the Lord is GOOD..!

Developments:

Last month our pledged monthly financial support went up to 56.8% of our budget; after adding one-time donations the Lord provided 100% of our budget. He also glorified Himself by providing us with two rental cars and two borrowed cars to meet our transportation needs while on furlough in the US—our Lord IS faithful..!

* On October 10^th our kids started at SAINTS—a home school physical education program in Weston, FL. Thank you for sponsoring our children while on furlough!

* On October 13^th we shared with the Thursday Night Chicas’ Bible study group from Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale, Plantation Campus.

* On October 16^th we presented our ministry to Christ Community Church in Pembroke Pines.

* On October 17^th we shared with the kids at AWANA in Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale, Plantation Campus. Thank you for sponsoring our children during our time in the US!

* On October 18^th we shared with the prayer group from Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale at the Goldie’s.

* On October 23^rd we visited the Plantation Campus of Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale.

* On October 28^th we had a Sponsor’s Dinner at The Garage in the Plantation Campus of Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale.

* On October 30^th I was invited to share about our ministry and to teach the Sunday service at Calvary Chapel Venice.

* On November 1^st we visited the Family Shepherd's Bible study group of Christ Community Church in Pembroke Pines.

* On November 6^th I was invited to share about our ministry and to teach the Sunday service at Capilla Calvario Broward.

We also visited and had fellowship with many other brothers and sisters in the Lord during the last month in the US. We are extremely thankful to God for all the love He channels our way through His people in all the fellowships mentioned above and to all of His children for making themselves available for Him to do so… Thank you.!!
